Project on the Move - May 2007

In May 2007 the main school and office left its former home
in Pouk Village, 17km from the town of Siem Reap, and moved
to a new site at Trapang Sesh Village close to the town.

This now means that volunteers and other visitors can reach
the project more easily, only 10 minutes' drive from the town
and the small regional airport.

Globalteer

Globalteer is a UK-based international aid and volunteer
organization working in Siem Reap, as well as many other areas
of the world - take a look at

HSPCCO's current building in Trapang Sesh is rented from
Globalteer from November 2007.

The new school at Trapang Sesh Village, May 2007

As of December 2007, HSPCCO operates two orphanages caring for homeless children (at Trapang and in Angkor Thom) and three
schools (in Trapang, Angkor Thom and Angkor Wat) offering free education and vocational training to children up to age 16 years.

The project survives on limited financial resources and
welcomes
donations, however small, to help with basic needs
and to further its work in improving the lives of local children.

The UK office <info@hspcco.org.uk> acts as a co-ordinating
centre, and transfers supporting funds to the project every two
months.

Volunteers to assist with the project and work as teachers,
carers and advisors are always welcome.

Anything you would like to know about HSPCCO, or the present or planned future work of this excellent and worthwhile project, please contact the UK office at:

Donations are always welcome. The UK staff work as volunteers, and all monies donated are used for the project on the ground in Cambodia. See www.hspcco.org.uk/3.html

Gap-Year Students

Planning travel to SE Asia? If you're planning to visit Cambodia, then consider visiting the project and working with them as a volunteer, even for a couple of weeks. There is always work to do, teaching skills are in demand and it could be a great experience to add to your CV. The world-famous Angkor temples are only 30km from Pouk School and less than 15km from the Angkor schools.
